The workout builder is Nolio's tool for designing a structured workout. You open it from the Plan a workout page, and whatever you build there lands as-is in your athletes' calendars.
It lets you:
add and organise steps;
set intensity targets (heart rate, power, pace);
include exercises;
control what the workout looks like on your athlete's side.
💡 Tip
The builder is the same whatever the sport. Running, cycling, swimming, conditioning or strength work: it's always the same four blocks — step, exercise, repeat, superset. Only the available intensity targets change.
The three areas of the builder
Area | What it does |
The toolbar | Add elements, format text, insert a link or media, undo or redo an action. The Add button is your starting point for building the workout. |
The build area | Your workout plan, in the order it will be performed. Every element you drop in can be edited, moved, duplicated or deleted. |
The side panel | Intensity targets and the exercise library. It adapts automatically to the sport selected for the workout. |
The four building blocks of a workout
From the Add button, you insert one of these four elements. Each one answers a specific need.
Block | When to use it |
For a block of work or recovery: a duration or a distance, one or more intensity targets, a comment for your athlete.
For a movement from your personal library, your team's, or the Nolio library: sets, reps, recovery, tempo.
To automatically repeat an identical block without duplicating it by hand. For example: 15 × 30 sec / 30 sec.
To chain several exercises with no recovery in between, the rest coming at the end of the block. Strength work, circuit training, Hyrox, cross-training. |
Adjusting how the workout is displayed
Once the workout is built, the options let you force the overall duration or distance, turn the structured workout on or off, and choose what your athlete sees (duration, distance, pace, step colours).
📌 Good to know
The builder only handles the content of the workout. The title, sport, date, labels and the athletes it applies to are set beforehand, on the Plan a workout page.
