What your athlete sees of your workout

The header, the totals, the steps, the exercise blocks and the chart, as your athlete reads them.

Written by Romain Malbreil

You build the workout, your athlete reads it. Their workout card carries over what you placed in the builder, laid out to be followed while training. Knowing what it holds saves you from repeating in a comment what Nolio already shows.

1. The header

At the top: the date, the workout title, the sport and its colour. Below, two pieces of information appear depending on the case.

  • A line saying the structured workout has been sent, naming the app or the connected watch it went to.

  • A line saying the workout comes from a plan, naming the plan.

2. Totals and load

The next band gathers what you entered and what Nolio calculated.

  • Duration and elevation gain;

  • Estimated Coggan load, Perception of estimated effort and Estimated Foster load;

  • Energy output in kJ, Avg power and Max power on a workout in power;

  • Training zones: one bar per zone category, with the time spent in each.

📌 Good to know

The perceived exertion you estimated is only visible to your athlete if you ticked Show rpe to athlete on the planning page. Left unticked, it stays with you.

3. The coach comment

The Coach comment block carries over what you wrote in the builder's editor, formatting and media included.

4. The steps

Each step shows on one line: its duration or its distance, then one chip per target.

A zone target reads on two levels: the percentage and the name of the reference above, the value calculated for that athlete below. For example 55% - 75% Critical power Cycling, and underneath 138 - 188 W.

An RPE target takes the form of a wording, for example Easy 3/10.

💡 Tip

That double reading is what the Hide percentages & name option cuts down: it removes 55% - 75% Critical power Cycling and leaves only 138 - 188 W. Useful with an athlete the percentage confuses more than it helps.

5. The exercise blocks

A Superset, an EMOM, a For Time or an AMRAP shows as a card, with its type and its duration or number of sets in the title. Two tabs change the reading:

  • the set view: the detail round by round, one line per exercise, with the reps, the target and the laterality;

  • the exercise view: the list of movements, with their instruction and their video.

6. The chart

The Planned workout section carries over, at the bottom of the card, the drawing you saw in the builder. Your athlete reads the shape of the session at a glance.
