Set up an exercise

Set the sets, reps, intensity targets, tempo and recovery of an exercise in the workout builder.

Written by Romain Malbreil

An exercise is a movement you add to a workout from the builder. You then configure it in detail to set the volume, the intensity and the instructions your athlete will see.

1. Adding an exercise to the workout

From the workout builder:

  1. Click Add.

  2. Select Exercise.

  3. Choose an existing exercise, or create a new one.

The exercise appears as a block in the workout. Its upper part shows the name, the description and, if you imported one, the associated video or image.

2. What you can configure

Sets

The Sets field defines how many sets to perform. Each set is configured individually, so you can vary the load or the number of reps from one set to the next.

Reps

For each set, choose the type of rep:

  • a number of reps;

  • a duration;

  • a distance.

Intensity targets

Each rep can carry an intensity target, which tells your athlete the effort expected. You can use:

  • an RPE target;

  • another available metric;

  • no target at all, if the exercise is open.

Tempo

The tempo sets the speed at which the movement is performed. It's useful for movement control, technical work and increasing time under tension.

Tempo is optional: leave it empty if you don't need it.

Recovery

The recovery defines the rest between sets or reps. You express it in seconds or minutes.

Comment

The Comment field lets you add instructions: posture to hold, key technical points, possible adaptations.

📌 Good to know

The comment is visible to your athlete on their workout. It's the place for whatever doesn't fit into a number.
