My workouts aren't sent to my watch

Why a planned workout doesn't reach your watch, and what changes by brand: Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Polar.

Written by Romain Malbreil

Sending planned workouts to your watch is automatic once your account is linked: you don't need to trigger anything. If a workout doesn't arrive, the cause is almost always one of those below.

💡 Tip

Each brand sets its own limits: number of intervals with Garmin, a 7-day window with Coros, compatible models with Suunto. Start with the common checks, then go to your brand's section.

1. Check that the workout is structured

This is by far the most common cause, and it applies to all brands: only a structured workout can be sent to a watch. A workout without intervals has nothing to send.

Two ways to tell:

  • a specific logo next to the workout in the calendar;

  • a chart at the bottom of the workout when you open it.

👉 To structure a workout that isn't: Workout builder

2. Check the connection and updates

  • Your account is linked to Nolio, and the brand's card is green.

  • The brand's app and the watch software are up to date.

3. What's specific to each brand

Brand

The limit to know

Garmin

Around forty intervals maximum per workout.

Coros

Nothing is sent beyond 7 days: workouts arrive as they come up.

Suunto

Only models from the 3, 5 and 9 ranges are compatible.

Polar

Not possible yet, a technical limit on Polar's side.

Garmin

Garmin doesn't accept a workout with more than around forty different intervals. With intense formats, such as 30/30s repeated several times, you quickly hit the cap.

The fix: use the Repeat block instead of duplicating your intervals one by one. A block repeated 10 times counts as only one interval.

📌 Good to know

If you've been using Nolio since before June 2021 and nothing has ever been sent: unlink and relink Garmin. The update at the time required a new authorization.

Coros

Workouts sent by Nolio arrive in the Training plan tab of the Coros App, not in the main calendar. That's often where "I can't find them" comes from.

Coros doesn't allow us to send beyond 7 days. A workout planned three weeks out is therefore not late: it will be sent once it enters that window.

Suunto

Sending goes through Suunto Guides, which is only compatible with models from the 3, 5 and 9 ranges. On another model, the workout won't be sent, whatever your setup.

Also check that the Suunto App and your watch software are up to date.

Polar

Sending planned workouts from Nolio to Polar Flow is not possible today. It's a technical limit on Polar's side, not a setting you need to find.

As soon as the Polar ecosystem allows it, we'll build the integration.
