Fill in a reference value from a lap

Use the data from a test lap to update a VMA, an FTP or any other reference value.

Written by Romain Malbreil

Any data from a lap can be used to fill in a reference value: VMA, FTP, or any other. It is the most direct route after a field test.

How it works

Take a VMA (maximal aerobic speed) test. Your athlete ran a dedicated lap at 16.14 km/h.

  1. Open the workout and find the test lap.

  2. Click the speed of that lap.

  3. Choose VMA.

The value is added to the athlete's profile, on the date of the workout.

Use the speed of a lap to fill in the VMA

📌 Good to know

The value is dated on the day of the workout, not the day you enter it. Your reference value history therefore stays consistent, even if you record the test several days later.

👉 To apply the new zones to your history: Recalculate time in zones
